Jackson Association of Neighborhoods (JAN) is a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening Jackson’s neighborhoods by partnering with resident groups, government, and organizations. They support neighborhood leaders, host trainings, and maintain a Community Calendar of neighborhood events.

Neighborhood Association Registration
All neighborhood associations in Jackson are encouraged to register via the city’s online platform. Registration is required to apply for grants from the Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP).

Home Rehabilitation Program
Our rehabilitation program helps low and moderate income homeowners address electrical, plumbing, roof, and safety issues. At this time, the intake is suspended, but we are accepting names for a waiting list.

Affordable Housing & Rental Support
Office of Housing & Community Development (OHCD) administers federal grants and affordable housing initiatives.
Jackson Housing Authority (JHA) operates public housing, Section 8 vouchers, and homeownership programs.
For Section 8: program is active but has been limited by funding and wait list status.
